Editorial policy
Modern World Dispatch aims to make connections between places legible without sanding away their differences. We value clear explanations, fair framing and careful distinctions between fact, interpretation and uncertainty.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against appropriate sources and give readers enough context to understand what a claim can and cannot show. We review names, dates and terminology with care, and avoid treating a vivid example as proof of a universal pattern. When a subject remains uncertain or contested, our wording should say so.
Independence
Editorial choices belong to the publication. Commercial relationships do not purchase favourable coverage, and partners do not approve independent editorial conclusions. We do not promise coverage in exchange for access, payment or a collaboration.
Corrections
If you spot an error, use the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We assess correction requests, amend material when warranted and make significant changes clear to readers. A correction should improve the record, not quietly change the point of a story.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or partner material is labelled clearly where it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when they are, they are identified as AI-generated. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.
The world is made of connections.
We follow the threads between places, looking closely at the routes, materials and choices that shape life across borders.
